Janine's Story
Janine found her passion for ceramics in her early 20's and started her pottery career at the age of 22 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her first major client was the prestigious Maharani Japanese restaurant by Sun International resorts in 1990.
Janine continued to manufacture pottery as well as manufacturing her own fabric paint and screen prints for the next 15years, at this time she ran a highly successful business.
In 2008 Janine moved to Mauritius and has been dealing with various hotels and chefs throughout the island. Janine has worked with some of the top hotels on the island, with The Prince Maurice, The Oberoi, and Salt of Palmar being longtime customers.
Janine works very closely with chefs in order to produce the piece of their dreams and to enhance their very exquisite and exotic dishes. She goes to the ends of the earth to provide a great service and to always respect a deadline.
Her unique and quaint studio is located in the quiet surrounds at The Mount, close to the Pamplemousses Gardens, where her hotel and student creations can be viewed by appointment.
